To study the detecting radiosensitvie of (In2O3)0.1 (TeO2)0.9 thin films irradiated by gamma rays. Materials and\nMethods: The effects of gamma irradiation of various levels on the current-voltage characteristics for the\n(In2O3)0.1 (TeO2)0.9 thin films, prepared by thermal evaporation in vacuum. The current increases linearly with the\ngamma radiation dose up to certain dose and decreases thereafter. The sensitivity of these thin films, at different\napplied voltages in the range 0–4.8 V, has been found to be in the range 35–190 mA/cm 2/Gy. Correspondingly, the\nminimum measurable dose has been found to be in the range 0.05–0.26 mGy. The values of the sensitivity are\nreasonably high in comparison to the commercially available gamma radiation dosimeters, revealing high scope\nfor further developments.\nKeywords: Radiosensitivity, Gamma radiation, Thin film, Radio-image
The disposition kinetic of florfenicol either alone or concurrently with flunixin meglumine was studied following single intravenous and intramuscular injections in dairy goats. Five clinically healthy lactating goats were injected with florfenicol in a dose of 20 mg kg-1b.wt. intravenously and intramuscularly with one month period in between. The same protocol was repeated after one month but flunixin (2.5 mg kg-1b.wt.) was concurrently administered with florfenicol. Samples of blood for serum, and samples of urine, milk and ruminal juice were taken from each goat at specific time intervals. Florfenicol concentrations were determined in all samples using HPLC. Following i.v injection of florfenicol and flunixin, there was a significant increase in Cpᴼ, k12, k21 and a significant decrease in MRT, t0.5α, Vdss, Vc, Vdarea and VdB of florfenicol compared to florfenicol when administered alone. After intramuscular injection, there was a significant increase in Kab, Cmax, AUC, MRT and F % and a significant decrease in Tmax and t0.5ab values of florfenicol following injection of florfenicol with flunixin. Moreover, flunixin meglumine alters the protein binding tendency of florfenicol and affect its rate of excretion in urine, milk and ruminal juice. Significant variation in the disposition of florfenicol when concurrently administered with florfenicol was reported and should be considered when the two drugs are used concurrently.
This work consists of a literature review of the use of botulinum toxin in dentistry, knowing that this toxin is well known for its use in aesthetic medicine, applied through intramuscular injections to reduce the signs of poisoning, and this is a natural poison 40 million times more powerful than cyanide. It is understood that its primary use is for therapeutic use. Having proven by ANVISA and FDA is only released to the therapeutic use of botulinum toxin type A and type B. In the Brazilian market have only botulinum toxin type A. With the aim of this study verify that the main therapeutic dental treatments Botulinum toxin is used; analyze the pros and cons related to this type of treatment; report through literature the use of botulinum toxin in different specialties of dentistry. The methodology used here was the literature review, which sought to by several authors of articles to meet the main goal here proposed. We conclude that the dentist has knowledge of the head and neck structures, can and should treat pathologies of the face and oral cavity conservatively and safely with the application of botulinum toxin, provided you have specific training and knowledge about their use.
Deciding to be the subject of a euthanasia procedure triggers a series of ethical and moral disjunctives, not only in the head of the patient who suffers without remedy but also in the heart of his family, society and the State. Bioethical principles are useful tools to solve such dilemmas, always in a context of respect for the healthy exercise of the self-determination of the patient who requests \'dignified death\'. There are few countries that have the euthanasia procedure authorized, the first one was Colombia back in 1997. However this procedure was legalized through a decree of the Supreme Court, not through a real law with the ability to derogate the criminal law which 20 years later still considers euthanasia a crime. This research shows the outcome of the situation.
